Underwater Wedding Photos

Underwater wedding photography, who's up for it?

In an earlier blog post, I mentioned that I've done underwater wedding photos. The quick story behind it is. . .

My 2nd Spanish destination wedding, was to be one of the craziest. In a good way. The couple (Florin and Carly) were just the best and up for trying something a little different with their wedding photos.

Before the weekend of the wedding, I had mentioned about their sunset newly-weds session the day after the wedding. I suggested we get into the sea for some fun photos under the waves, in casual clothes. Shortly after this suggestion, I had a reply saying they would do it, in their wedding dress and suit.

We found a quiet beach a few miles from Port de Pollenca, on the island of Mallorca. Everything was ready, so the 3 of us got into the water. It wasn't as cold as I thought it was going to be. I was using a GoPro with the dome, so I could get the above/below photo. After a few minutes getting the shots, I stepped out of the water, grabbed my main camera (not waterproof), and went back into the water. Not too deep this time, so the camera was kept above the waves.

We had some fun with the photos, then got back out of the water after the sun had went down.

Having this option on my destination bookings is great for couples to relax, have some fun, go to a totally different location and get more photos. You could go for a hike to a mountain peak, swim underwater at sunset, go for a stroll through a quaint cobblestoned village streets. You both can wear what you want too, you don't have to put the suit and dress back on again, you can go casual if you wish.
